Many industries and companies REQUIRE ongoing professional development. And measure it with CEU (Continuing Education Units) credits. In an industry as fast-paced as technology, and in particular as social as the Web, in-person conferences and workshops are essential.

I agree on your key points! I think if clients/boss/whoever see me attending classes/seminars/expos/whatever then that shows that I’m proactive about learning more about what I do, and what people in the fields related are doing. I think it show’s a willingness to do better, not a weakness. Good thoughts Craig.
